Ramsden proud to represent NZ in Fiji

Diplomat Mark Ramsden, is proud to represent New Zealand in Fiji.

Reinstated as the New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Ramsden says New Zealand now has a solid base to grow its close partnership with Fiji.

Ramsden says the relationship has always been strong at the people to people level and he would like to see this continue.

“We haven’t been super focused about the level of our level of representation but we are very glad now to be back here at Commissioner level. We are looking forward to having forward a Fijian High Commissioner restored in Wellington too. It’s been a great time being here. I have been very well welcomed by Fijians, the people of Fiji.”

Ramsden has served as acting head of mission in Suva since 2013.

He has extensive experience in the Pacific and has previously served as High Commissioner to Solomon Islands and Deputy High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, as well as being posted to Vanuatu.
