There will soon be a fire station in Rakiraki.

National Fire Authority Chief Executive Manasa Lesuma says they have plans in place to have their services available in populated areas.

Lesuma says they are also currently constructing another fire station in Nabouwalu.

He says the construction of all these stations have been made possible through government’s assistance.

“We have been continuously assisted by government through government grants to build new stations and now with the eighteen we have, I would say in terms of the scope of our work, we are strategically located throughout Fiji.”

Lesuma adds they are also in the process of preparing two other sites in Lami and Nakasi to construct their stations.

NFA currently has 18 fire stations throughout the country.
