Police have in the last hour arrested a suspect who attacked and killed a teenager in Naria, Rakiraki yesterday.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro has confirmed a 36 year old man has been arrested and is in custody.

Sources told FBC News that the suspect was apprehended in the vicinity of the attack.

A cane cutter attacked Simran Singh as she got off the school bus yesterday afternoon.

Her father who came to her rescue was also injured when he was attacked by the suspect.

He is admitted at the Rakiraki Hospital.
