Farmers from Rakiraki will be allowed to deliver their cane to the Lautoka Sugar Mill when it begins crushing from July 3rd.

Fiji Sugar Corporation Chief Operating Officer, Navin Chandra, says since the Rarawai Mill in Ba will begin crushing almost three weeks later, farmers can supply cane to Lautoka if they wish to do so.

Chandra says the Corporation will be happy to see Rakiraki farmers begin harvesting early.

He says the Corporation will pay conversion rate to Rakiraki farmers for their cane delivery right up to the Lautoka Mill.

Chandra says the government has already agreed to pay all transportation cost from the Penang Mill sector to Rarawai.
