The Rakiraki Carnival is being revived after a lapse of 10 years.

Six contestants will be vying for the main prize at the festival next month.

Vodafone Fiji is sponsoring the festival after it signed an agreement with the Rakiraki Town Council.

The hosting of the carnival paves the way for the organizing committee and the communities of Ra to come together in the staging of landmark event.

Vodafone Fiji chief executive Pradeep Lal says they are happy to lend their support to revive the carnival.

The carnival will be held at the FSC Grounds from 9th to the 12th of September.
