Rainima sets benchmark for Miss World competition

November 24, 2017 6:50 pm

Miss World Fiji Nanise Rainima has set the benchmark for future competitors with one of the best finishes to date in the pageant.

National Director, Andhy Blake, says the momentum by Rainima can only be capitalized on for next year’s pageant with Fiji inching closer to the top tier finish.

Blake says for now the team will go back to the drawing board to dissect the 2017 performance and identify key areas to work on in the New Year.

“This year’s Miss Fiji has placed higher than any other predecessors, one is because we’ve never placed in a fast track event before and the whole world knows that Nani placed 2nd in the talent and that was the first for us and also top 20 in Beauty with a purpose, this is a third year we’ve been a semi-finalist in this category. Overall she’s done an amazing job, she’s really put Fiji on the pageantry map.”

Miss World will announce in January their competition location for 2018 with casting for a contestant to begin soon after.
