SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka claims the reason why the NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad doesn’t want to form a coalition with him was the fear of losing out Indo-Fijian voters.

Rabuka revealed this while speaking on the 4 the Record show on FBC TV last night.

Rabuka says majority of the Indo-Fijian community still have not forgiven him after what transpired in 1987.

“But being realistic about it because there is still a political pool in the masses that would probably not give him the votes he needs to be formidable and its safer for him not work with me.”

In 1999 Rabuka’s SVT Party forged a coalition with then NFP leader Jai Ram Reddy which was not widely accepted by the Indo-Fijian community.

Rabuka says he blames himself for the downfall of the NFP party in 1999 and that’s why the current party leader has refused to work with him.

“In fact I blame myself for the exit of such great leaders such as Arish Sharma, James Raman and Jai Ram Reddy from the political scene in Fiji because of trying to work with me.”

Rabuka believes the current NFP leader can work with him however it’s only the members who are still carried away with his political reputation.
