Quick response by police pays off

All cases of aggravated robberies are being treated with the utmost urgency and officers are tasked to work around the clock to ensure criminal elements will not have an opportunity to commit another crime.

This follows an incident where two tertiary school students from the Solomon Islands were robbed of $20,000 Solomon Boklo Dollars, laptops and mobile phones at their Raiwaqa home on Sunday morning.

A team of officers were immediately appointed to conduct an investigation and ensure those involved were arrested.

Three men were arrested from Raiwai for their alleged involvement on Monday and have since been charged. Two have been charged with aggravated burglary and theft while the third accused has been charged with receiving stolen property.

All three will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The team has also managed to recover $13,000 Solomon dollars and assorted items.
