Questions have been raised on the safety of amusement rides at this year’s Hibiscus festival which is currently underway in Nasinu, Valelevu.

This is after a child fell off the ferries wheel last night and an Octopus ride emitted smoke at the opening of the festival on Saturday.

Director of Wilderness Amusement, Donald Mani says parents must also take responsibility of their children.

” According to my operator the patrons has swung the seat and it went round and by the time he tried to slow down and put them down one of them fell.”

Meanwhile, the festival will conclude this Saturday with the crowning of the 2018 Vodafone Miss Hibiscus.
