Queensland investors encouraged to work with Fiji

Many Fijians have found new homes in Queensland, Australia and many Queenslanders have come to call Fiji their second home.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says Fiji has a great opportunity to take this relationship to another level.

Speaking at the opening of the first Fiji-Queensland trade and Symposium yesterday, Bainimarama highlighted the significant untapped potential that exists in the Fiji-Queensland relationship.

He adds this includes areas which the two economies can work together and provide tailor made investment solutions to benefit them.

Bainimarama says there are opportunities in the area of ICT, mining and agriculture along with other productive sectors.

The Prime Minister encouraged both parties to think about joining both economies through increased trade and investment to create more opportunities for growth.

Bainimarama is currently attending a symposium with a high level team of ministers, permanent secretaries and other senior officials including the head of Investment Fiji.

The team will help showcase what Fiji has to offer to the Queensland economy.
