He clarified that the company did not give out any letters stating they did not recognize family care leave, it was a notice put up on their notice board.

He says he had a meeting with a team from the Ministry of Employment yesterday and everything has been sorted out.

Minister for Employment, Parveen Bala confirms that he had sent out a team to Quality Print.

Bala says he is expecting a report from the team this week.

Family Care Leave is taken by workers who wish to provide care and support to members of the worker’s immediate family or a member of the worker’s household.

The Leave is not less than 5 working days during each year of service and it must not be accumulated and unused leave will automatically lapse to the next year.

This is applicable to workers who have completed more than 3 months’ probation with the same employer.
