Opposition MP Lenora Qereqeretabua claims the 2019/2020 National budget will bring hardships for ordinary Fijians.
Qereqeretabua says the budget is knowingly ignoring the issues faced by ordinary Fijians as the hike in the cost of living has resulted in some meat outlets selling lamb flaps – which were forbidden many years ago.
The MP also disagrees with the budget reduction of the Environment Ministry.
“For all the talk about Environment, you slash the Department of Environment’s budget. How can we trust a government that says one thing and does another? The Malolo fiasco will not be allowed to be swept under the carpet and we will get to the truth.”
In parliament, Qereqeretabua also claims the e-Ticketing system was a bad idea.
She says they don’t know how much money is involved from past taxpayer’s injections and its benefit to government revenue.
The MP says Vodafone must table a report in the house.
