There is a need to put names to the various faces in the archive photographs from Fiji’s Independence Day that’s on display at the Fiji National University’s Raiwai Campus.

FNU Chancellor Ikbal Jannif says the exhibition was an opportune time for people to begin to appreciate these photographs and try to identify the people in them.

“When you look at the big pictures of people you can easily identify a few faces but this is the time to identify these guys. The young people wouldn’t know them and the old people are dying away so this is the time to do it.”

The exhibition showcased 45 curated archive images in celebration of Fiji’s 45 years of Independence.

It is open to members of the general public and will be on display until November 26.
