The publicity that’s been generated both internationally and locally about the royal visit brings great value to Fiji’s Tourism industry.
Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association President, Dixon Seeto says this promotes the country as a desirable and friendly tourism destination.
Seeto says the visit also profiles Fiji as a safe place.
”If you look at a lot of the Fijian family homes, there are pictures of the Queen and royalties still there – so there’s this attachment still there. For us in Tourism – we’re very happy that they’ve chosen Fiji. They could have chosen any other Pacific Island Country. I am sure the Prince and Royal Highness will talk about Fiji in a very favourable way and it’s going to be good for us.”
Seeto adds that while the royal couple will enjoy Fiji, Fijians will also enjoy their presence.
Meanwhile, many locals have told FBC news that they are looking forward to meeting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tomorrow.
