Public consultations on the review of the National Security and Defense strategy are being held in Nadi.
The Review Committee is currently at the Nadi Civic Centre.
The team will travel to Sigatoka tomorrow for a session and then Lautoka in the afternoon at the Council Chambers.
The national security strategy is aimed at assisting the government and the security agencies by been more responsive and flexible in light of new and emerging threats.
Committee Chairman Esala Teleni says it’s obvious security concerns are much more broad and goes beyond the capacity of governments to be able to deal with.
Teleni says security of a nation is everybody’s responsibility and the idea behind the public consultations is to ensure that the strategy is as inclusive as possible.
