The public are being urged to remain responsible as the Nadi Meteorological Office has forecast adverse weather conditions for the group.
Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, says at the same time parents and guardians need to remain vigilant and always keep an eye on their children.
Qiliho says during their patrol police officers have seen children are left unsupervised and there are also related pictures on social media which shows children swimming in flooded creeks and rivers.
“At the end of the day we cop the fleck for that because we have to be there, trying to remove them and all. So when someone goes missing we go out there and spend hours and days trying to find them.”
Meanwhile a heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Northern and Western parts of Viti Levu.
