Public urged to call Census Helpline if yet to be counted

October 5, 2017 1:14 am

With four days left of the enumeration period for Census 2017, officials are advising the public to call the helpline on 5-1-5-1 if they have yet to be counted.

Senior Statistician in the Bureau of Statistics Emali Soderberg says there are a number of factors that has led to this, in some instances some enumerators are still covering their designated areas, while there has been a number of people unavailable at home which has led to hundreds of call backs.

“So for households that have yet to be counted, we kindly ask that they call the helpline 5-1-5-1 and give us their details, their location and their number so we can contact them and get a time that is good for them to be visited and enumerated.”

Meanwhile, the statistician says there has been no arrests in the two separate cases of imposters that had occurred in the first two weeks of the census.

The census count is expected to wrap up this Sunday.
