Members of the public are being urged to be mindful of the permitted hours for the use of fireworks.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has specified the permitted hours under the Explosives (Fireworks) Regulations.
No person shall use or discharge any fireworks except between the hours of 5.00pm and 10.00pm.

Also stated is that, the permitted hours for the use of any fireworks during the Diwali celebrations shall be between the hours of 5.00pm and 12midnight.
People must not only be mindful of this, but also the rights of others.
Police are requesting the public to adhere to the regulation and ensure it is followed accordingly.
Those caught breaching the regulation may be fined or face the possibility of an imprisonment term.
