The public have been advised to play their part and come forward with any information that can assist the arrest of men involved in aggravated robberies in Viti Levu.
This comes after incidents of theft, aggravated robberies and home invasions have risen in recent months.
Police Chief of Intelligence and investigations ACP Henry Brown says they also need the public’s assistance despite more officers being tasked to look for the perpetrators.
‘’Help us to prevent the robberies, taxi drivers, watchmen, security, bus drivers, truck drivers we appeal to the public. If you have any information, call the officers. And I have just briefed the officers that their phones should be charged and switched on 24/7’’.
Brown adds they have discovered there are different groups of men behind service station robberies, business heists and home invasions.
About 30 detectives have been deployed to the West, the Southern division and to Nausori.
