Public given more time for EFL tariff increase input

Written submissions for the proposed Energy Fiji Limited tariff rate increase has been extended to next Friday.

Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission chief executive Joel Abraham says this has been done to allow more people to make their submissions.

Abraham adds the deadline for written submission was last Friday but this has now been extended.

Meanwhile, oral submissions will end on the 28th as well.

The Commission is currently in the Western Division and is carrying out consultations with Fijians.

They will then move to Northern Division next month and visit Taveuni as well

The EFL has made a proposal for their tariff rate to increase by 17.27% and after consultations, it will be decided whether the rates will increase or remain the same.
