Public consultations for the formulation of the country’s five year and twenty year development plans will begin tomorrow.
The consultation will begin in the Central and Western division while the Northern division will have theirs on June 29 and the Eastern division on July 9.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum is urging Fijians to attend these consultations to state what they want.
He says the development plans will set out medium and long term goals for the country.
These consultations will benefit all Fijians.
“We urge people to come and participate, no submissions is ever too silly or too small, tell us what you think and what you want. Different villages, different areas in Fiji in rural and maritime areas. It will be a very wide public consultation process and so members of the public can come in and say look this is what we want.”
A team from the Finance Ministry will be conducting consultations in Rewa and Naitasiri in the Central Division while another team will be in Nadroga, Ba and Ra in the Western division tomorrow.
