The Public Service Commission has received 449 applications from 226 individuals for the 21 advertised Permanent Secretary (PS) positions.
Chairman of the Public Service Commission Vishnu Mohan says NGS Global, the HR Company engaged to undertake this recruitment, is progressing well in terms of its search for the right candidates.
Mohan says the applicants are from many different countries, but the majority is from within Fiji.
He says NGS Global is currently assessing all submissions for the 21 roles and will compile a long list of candidates for preliminary interviews both by face to face and Skype.
From the interviews, four candidates per role will be shortlisted for review within the next two to three weeks.
Mohan adds, the process is expected to be completed within this year, with successful candidates taking up their respective roles from early 2016.
