“We are not going to verify provisional results.”
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem made this statement as Counting of Official results is still underway at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
Saneem says there are some misconceptions regarding the provisional results as final results will be counted and tallied differently.
“We are going to put it aside and we are going to enter results on the results management platform fresh from scratch, anybody who wants to check it, the Fijian Elections Office will not participate in such exercise.”
Saneem also clarifies there is no second count or third count once the process is already finish and these are the protocol of results that is transferred to the counting centre.
Meanwhile, Political parties can have their agents present while the data entry is being conducted for the final results.
