The defence counsel for a former pilot charged with one count of murder today alleged in the Suva High court that one of the evidence uplifted from the crime scene was planted.
It is alleged that on November 3rd 2009, Imshaad Izraar Ali murdered his de-facto partner Rajeshni Sharma who was a kindergarten teacher in Rewa Street, Samabula.
Inspector Sakuisa Jitoko who carried out investigation at the crime scene today denied the suggestion put by Defence counsel Abhay Singh that the iron rod uplifted as evidence was planted.
Jitoko carried out investigation at the crime scene on 3rd and 4th November, however, he mentioned about the iron rod in a statement on 14th November 2009.
Ali’s lawyer Abhay Singh said that the photographs of the iron rod was not disclosed to them which according to Jitoko was marked and photographed.
During cross examination he said the photographs were taken, however, the photographic booklet was prepared before 14th November which is why it was not disclosed.
The trial continues before High Court Judge Justice Vincent Perera.
