Prosecution and Defense to sort out PTC matters in Rabuka case

SODELPA leader, Sitiveni Rabuka appeared in the Suva Magistrates court this morning to sort out his pretrial matters.

His trial starts on the 15th of this month and the Defence is seeking certain orders in relation to the case.

Rabuka is charged with providing false declaration of Assets, Income and Liabilities to the Supervisor of Elections.

He is also facing another charge breaching his bail conditions.

It is alleged that on June 18th this year, Rabuka allegedly approached and interfered with one of the prosecution witnesses in relation to his substantive matter.

In the substantive matter, Rabuka is charged with providing false declaration of Assets, Income and Liabilities to the Supervisor of Election.

Its alleged last year Rabuka failed to provide information pertaining to tax liability with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Services which amounted to over $316,000.

He is also alleged to have failed to declare Investment and interest income from Raghwan Constructions Limited in the amount of $200,000 and $16,000 respectively and also a liability in the amount of $120,000.

The matter has been adjourned to next Monday.
