There has not been a clear set policy regarding the transfer of teachers says Minister for Education Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Sayed-Khaiyum says that this will now change as the civil service reform management unit are working with the ministry to draw out policies so that teacher’s transfers are transparent.

He says that in the past the ministry received accusations that some people got transfers more readily on the basis of who they knew.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds the ministry needsto have proper protocols to these transfers and who should get the first priority.

He says this would create better confidence within the education system.
