July 14, 2018 10:10 pm

Three families in the interior Ba now have access to better sanitation facilities.

A group of New Zealand volunteers worked in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Fiji to construct three flush toilets which has put an end to the struggles faced particularly by the female members in these families.

49-year-old Rosivela Nadibi who cannot walk properly due to knee arthritis says she went through a lot of trouble when using the toilet at night.

A Water, Sanitation and Hygiene training was also conducted for the entire village promoting basic hygiene practices around the usage of water and sanitation.

The volunteers will build 23 more sanitation facilities in other communities.
