Fijians who are in need of homes should not take for granted the First Home Buyer Grant Policy that is now being offered by the Housing and Community Development Ministry.

First time buyers with an annual income under $50,000 will receive $15,000 towards land and house or $10,000 just for land, while families who make $50,000 a year and above, qualify for grant assistance with $10,000 provided for the land-and-house package or $5000 for a ready built home.

Housing and Community Development Permanent Secretary, Joshua Wycliffe says the need for Fijians to know more about this government initiative is vital.

“One of those things that we would like to see is we are able to promote this product much more stronger throughout Fiji so more and more people can make use of this.”

Wycliffe is encouraging the public to seek advice from any financial institution or visit their office for any clarification.
