Printery gets international accreditation

Lautoka-based Universal Printing Press has gained an international accreditation for bar code testing.

The printer, which comes under the Punjas Group of Companies, is the first in the Pacific to get GS1 certification.

This means bar codes tested by the printery can get access to foreign markets that have international standards.

Universal Print General Manager, Shri Krishna says it’s a major milestone for the company.

Krishna says they now have the capacity to do bar code testing in Fiji which was normally done abroad.

He adds products which are bar code tested by Universal Printing Press will meet standards required by developed countries like Australia and New Zealand.

GS1 New Zealand General Manager, Gary Hartley was at Universal Print today to hand over the certification.
