Preparations are also underway for the visit of China’s President Xi Jinping in Nadi on Friday.

Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Amena Yauvoli says Xi will on a three-day state visit.

“His coming in for a three day visit arriving on Friday afternoon and returning on Sunday morning.”

Yauvoli says bilateral talks will take place between the leaders of Fiji and China.

“The visit will more or less to enhance to increase our bilateral relations between the two countries of China and Fiji.”

Several Pacific island leaders will also be meeting the President in Nadi.
