President urges world leaders to act now

The world leaders including COP23 President Voreqe Bainimarama witnessed the cultural performance showcasing perspectives on climate change and Pacific Island cultures live from Bonn, Germany.

The event Fiji Live to COP23: Uniting for Climate Action was held at USP in Suva last night.

Officiating the event President Jioji Konrote said the songs and dance are woven into the fabric of our societies and give color and meaning to every important moment in our national lives.

“We in the Pacific are watching the proceedings at COP23 with great interest and are looking for an outcome that makes a strong connection between what happens in Bonn and the lives of ordinary people. All those with a power to act must do so because climate change ultimately threatens every single person on earth.”

This was the second and final event that was lived streamed in Bonn.
