President farewells Kiribati High Commissioner

President major-general (ret’d) Jioji Konrote received a farewell courtesy call yesterday from outgoing Kiribati High Commissioner to Fiji Reteta Nikuata-Rimon at Borron house.

During their meeting, President Konrote acknowledged the warm relations between Fiji and Kiribati both politically and economically and hopes that the relationship is further strengthened through trade and capacity building initiatives.

Rimon said Fiji and Kiribati shared a lot of history and that her time spent in Fiji was memorable.

She has served as Kiribati high commissioner to Fiji for the past 13 years and she has also served as the dean of the diplomatic corps in Fiji.
