President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has asked the public not to be intimidated by anyone as the country today will hold elections after eight years.

“Do not be intimidated by threats of violence or actual violence. I urge all political parties and their supporters not to intimidate anyone or engage in any untoward activity.”

The president made these comments yesterday at the thanksgiving service for the 45 soldiers who were released by militants in Syria.

Ratu Epeli says he is confident Fiji will come together again just as it did in the last two weeks when the soldiers were detained and vote in a free and fair election with each person having an equal vote.
