Pre COP23 meeting gets underway

300 delegates from 68 countries are gathered at the Sheraton in Denarau, Nadi this morning for the Pre-COP 23 which will be held over the next three days.

Today is Partnerships Day where mainly Non-Party Climate Action leaders will share their insights and exchange ideas on how to accelerate climate action.

The event will be officially opened by Prime Minister of Fiji Voreqe Bainimarama.

Part of the agenda for the day is a Grand Coalition panel which will be chaired by Fiji’s High Level Climate Champion Inia Seruiratu.

Later on in the day there will be a signing of agreements between the Asian Development Bank, the Green Climate Fund and the Fijian Government to improve water and sanitation services to more than 300,000 people living in the greater Suva area and to ensure that critical infrastructure is resilient to climate change.
