PRB flats to target middle and low income earners

Affordable homes for the middle and low income earners will be on the market by the end of next year.

The Public Rental Board has undertaken a $20m project in the construction of two hundred and eight flats.

General Manager Mesake Senibulu says this is expected to ease the demand for housing in the capital

“We are anticipating to complete all thirteen blocks of two hundred and eight flats by December 2013. Two blocks of flats have been confirmed to open by the end of this year.”

The old PRB flats had a reputation and Senibulu says things will be different this time.

“The Police have asked to be part of the screening process as they expect good people with community skills to be part of the community.”

Work on the flats is expected to complete by December next year.
