The practice by previous governments to sell iTaukei land will not be repeated.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama made this statement saying not an inch of Itaukei land has been lost under the current government.

Speaking at the launch of the Navakavu Revitalization plan today, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama spoke about the governments work to ensure the protection of Itaukei land.

“And in the constitution iTaukei land is protected for all time. Under past governments, under past governments, we saw iTaukei land being sold off entirely, lost forever from rightful owners. Those days are over.”

Bainimarama says they will continue to deliver what’s best for iTaukei landowners.
