There was a power outage for the whole of Viti Levu last night.

FEA Chief Executive, Hasmukh Patel says the 132,000 volts transmission line from Wailoa to Cunningham tripped causing power outage in the Central Division.

Patel says whilst their teams were in the process of restoring this power supply to the Central division, another lightning strike on the 132,000 volts transmission line from Wailoa to Vuda in the Western division caused the power outage for the whole of Viti Levu.

Meanwhile, power was restored a few hours later.
