Potholes affecting traffic flow: FRA

February 11, 2019 7:30 am

The Fiji Roads Authority says potholes on our roads is affecting traffic flow.

FRA Chief Executive Jonathan Moore says they have also received many complaints from people regarding this and they are trying to resolve the issue.

“When you come to a pothole, you slow down. When you slow down, the car behind you slows down as well. When there are potholes, the traffic flows way slower and when there are no potholes, the traffic flows through.”

The FRA has highlighted that instead of fixing the potholes, the authority has started replacing entire road sections.

FRA says this is expensive but will be beneficial in the long run.

Moore says they will work progressively over the next few years to replace majority sections of our roads and provide better road services for the public.
