Authorities are confident operations on the highway are already seeing results.
The Land Transport Authority and police Red Zone operation has been running in the West for a few weeks and during this time – there’s been no accident in the area.
LTA spokesperson Alfred Wiliame says the Red Zone Operation is seeing positive results already.
The sad thing about this is these contrabands are brought in by visitors themselves. What people must understand this does not help the situation at all becuase when we find contrabands on inmates, privilleges are taken away from them.
The LTA has maintained zero tolerance for those breaking road rules…repeat offenders will not be tolerated..
About 944 traffic infringement notices have been issued along with over a thousand defect notices and 63 vehicles have been impounded in the Operation.
