Poor planning causes traffic congestion: FRA

January 2, 2018 4:43 pm

The Fiji Roads Authority will no longer undertake major road projects simultaneously as it has resulted in traffic congestion.

FRA Chief Executive, Jonathan Moore says they have begun with proper plans on how best to undertake road projects in an effort to allow more traffic flow.

”The effects of working on these roads at the same time and the effect are obvious so it’s not going to happen anymore. We are going to take a very considerate view on this and we are not going to be having three, four, five major work at the same time.”

Moore says poor planning from previous FRA leadership has caused traffic jam as more projects are implemented at the same time.

FRA has currently put on hold a number of road projects to enable other projects to be completed and also to reduce traffic during peak hours.
