Lack of participation of the Social Democratic Liberal Party’s youth supporters in the political arena is a concern for the party.

Youth President Jope Koroisavou regarded this as their main challenge in the past election preparations.

Koroisavu stating a solution is due to be found in the Party’s youth wing’s annual general meeting in Suva next week.

He adds more awareness will be created to ensure supporters are interested in the preparation and participation for the 2022 General Election.

“We will be looking at the active political participation of young people. I think that was one of the big areas that we saw was a challenge in the last election and it’s not only an issue where it’s confined to the SODELPA space but I think it’s a matter of national interest.”

Also part of the AGM is the selection of new office bearers with the constitution stipulating terms of two years.

Koroisavou has admitted he will accept the Presidency role again if chosen by members of the youth wing.
