Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his counterpart Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

In a congratulatory note on his re-election as Prime Minister throughout the next four-year term of government, Prime Minister Modi says India and Fiji enjoy traditionally warm and cordial relations based on mutual respect, goodwill and understanding.

_“On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own personal behalf, I extend warm greetings and congratulations on Your Excellency’s re-election as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji. I also convey my best wishes for continued progress and prosperity of the people of the Republic of Fiji under your able leadership.”_

_“We have excellent cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral fora for our shared objectives. I am confident that our strong relationship will continue to grow under your leadership.”_

Prime Minister Modi adding that India and Fiji share important values that support the countries’ strong bilateral relationship.
