Providing quality service to the people should not be impacted by the political party you support.

This is the message from the Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate while engaging civil servants to a talanoa session in Labasa.

Usamate says government will not stop anyone from supporting other political parties but when it comes to serving the people of Fiji, it should be done with dignity and honour.

The Minister says politics should be brushed aside as delivering for all Fijians should be paramount.

“We must place the people of this country on a pedestal above us and we look up to them, we don’t want to put them below us and look down at them, we put them on a pedestal, raised them up and tell them that it is our job to look after them and provide them the service that they need.”

Usamate also stated that civil servants play an important role in ensuring the government machinery are able to provide the people of Fiji the service they need.
