The Police Force says it will ensure that a conducive environment is provided for everyone and every political parties to exercise their democratic rights leading up to the General Elections later this year.

Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says officers will be briefed on how to handle campaign meetings and other march that will take place prior to the elections.

Tudravu says permits will be given to all political parties but they should work within the boundaries of the law.

_“We are giving you the liberty to do that but you should exercise within the law and we will not condone any people using those kind of permits to abuse it.”

The Police Force will also carry out major operations to ensure a free and fair election for all Fijians.
