Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says each party has to pay a thousand dollars for each candidate.

We will process each application to check if it meets the legal requirement under the Electoral Decree and we will inform the candidate of the success or failure of the application thereafter.

Processing applications by Independent candidates will take time as the Elections Office will verify the details of all supporting members.

Each independent candidate needs at least one thousand supporting members.

The objections to any nominations can be made to the Electoral Commission by 4pm 19th August.
