Political parties say election not fair

Political party leaders are holding a media conference this hour, claiming yesterday’s elections were not free and fair.

Social Democratic Liberal Party – Ro Teimumu Kepa, Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhary and National Federation Party leader Biman Prasad and other political party leaders met in Suva this afternoon over the issue.

Chaudhry says they are concerned about how the election was carried out.

‘We don’t consider this election to be free and fair .I doesn’t think it meets the international benchmark for free and fair election.’

Chaudhary says they will raise their concern with the Multinational Observer Group .

“We will discuss this with them we hope that we can have a comprehensive discussion on this issue and there are benchmarks and MOG must satisfy us that those benchmark have been met "
