Policy for Peace representing the Pacific

A Policy for Peace 2015 document, a FemLINKPACIFIC Policy Initiative for the Pacific region, has been launched by Speaker Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni.

The Policy – identifies women in leadership throughout the region who are capable of taking their places in various decision making structures.

Dr Luveni says the document also contains recommendations for peace, security and gender parity for women in the Pacific.

_“This report mirrors findings of the global study report and is a result of work implemented since the adoption of the UNCR 1325 fifteen years ago. It focuses on a number of recommendations of the global study particularly the prevention and human security approach, the use of early warning systems as well as the dialogue of the primitive, dialogue of the local and international level.”

Next week the UN Security Council will hold its annual Open Debate on women, peace and security in New York.
