The Fiji Police Force has confirmed that it has yet to receive an official report from relatives of those involved in the Nabou accident over the weekend that some of their personal items were looted.

The family of two of the victims, Sanaila Ruitoka and Atilai Ruitoka, who died in the horrific road accident in Nabou, Sigatoka on Saturday have claimed that some of the belongings of the deceased are missing.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Sakeasi Radibi says they discovered this yesterday after Police dropped off the personal items with the two deceased mobiles phones and money missing.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says families have not reported the matter, however there are items from the accident that are still with Police and family members are urged to go to Police to identify them where possible.

“We have gathered some personal belongings from the accident site and we have that in our possession right now and if they lodge a report they are more than free to do so and we will hand over the belongings once claimed by family members”

Naisoro says they will carry out an investigation if a report on suspicions of looting is lodged by family members of the deceased.
