Police will clamp down on those involved in the trading of illicit drugs around the country.

This comes after numerous drug raids were conducted by divisional officers after receiving information from the public.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says around thirty people have been arrested by police in the past three weeks for being in possession of drugs.

”I am just giving out a stern warning now especially to the youths and those that would like to outsmart police in terms of illicit drugs. This is an area where we will be focusing again this year and i would like to say to them that better cut out all this nonsense because we will find them.”

In most of these recent raids, drugs seized were Marijuana and methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, ACP Tudravu adds that drug dealers are getting more tactical and trying to outsmart them.

Fijians are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 919 or any Command Centres if they have any information on the illegal drug trade.
