Police visit villagers in the Southern Lau

Police officers have started visiting villagers in the Southern Lau group in the preparations for the impending Cyclone Gita.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says people are being reminded tobe mindful of the disaster and be cautious.

The officers are going out to the villagers advising them to adhere to the warning and the last thing is for anyone to get hurt.

The National Disaster Management Office is advising communities in the Southern Lau Group, including Ono-i-Lau, Vatoa, Fulaga, Kabara, Moce, Komo, Namuka-i-Lau, Ogea, Oneata, Lakeba, and other nearby islands, to be prepared at the highest level.
